Why Cats Knead
It’s true that most of our Atlanta pet sitting clients have dogs, but we also have a lot of kitties that we dearly love. I have such happy memories of my own kitty, Gigi – I had to say “Good-bye” to her about two years ago, after being together for over 19 years. Her passing left quite a hole in my heart.
Gigi was a great “kneader.” She often jumped up on my lap and began kneading my tummy before settling in for a nap. I found this behavior both endearing and annoying; after all, her claws were sharp little pinpricks! Recently, I found this article by Rae Paoletta of Inverse magazine explaining Why Cats Knead. It turns out this activity is every bit as adorable as it looks.
Call us at Buckhead Paws, 404-432-1192, and we’ll happily let your kitty knead our tummies!
